The night-blooming cereus
QUEEN OF THE NIGHT
This plant grows in deserts and to save energy in an extremely dry climate, the cereus puts out flowers only once per year and at night. The cooler night temperatures in the desert allow the flowers to blossom longer than they would in the intense heat of the day.
